It’s a wonderful feeling, the unjustified relief after crossing off one of the 50 things on your to-do list.

I am now 37 days into the FYP and have made literally zero quantifiable progress since my last post. Lets recap the six day stall:

Day 6(today): Presentation for Con’s project, which despite being worth 15% of a project worth 60% of a module worth 6 credits, somehow vastly out ranked the concept development worth 20% of a project worth 75% of a module worth 18 credits.

Day 5: Panic prep for said presentation. Proof of concept video due at 6pm that evening, I opened Adobe Premiere Pro for the first time in my life at 8am that morning. It went OK.

Day 4: Not functional as a human being.

Day 3: Prototyping for Con’s project, surprisingly decent result. College Christmas Days in the Stables, see day 4.

Day 2: Meeting for Cons project, scheduled for 11am – we met at 12.30pm.

Day 1: Shopping! None of the lipsticks I have match my dress for next week…

I’ve started maybe 8 blogs in the last 2 years, none of which lived longer than 6 weeks, and I have no reason to believe this one will be any different. But God loves a trier.

I am now 31 days into my 7 month and 1 week FYP. Not that I’m counting. I have:

  1. 2 weeks of alarmingly minimal research
  2. 1 beautiful presentation of said research
  3. 21 pages of idea generation – only 14 of which are even legible.

According to tutors, who I have somehow allowed to become in charge of my life, this puts me in a position to present 3 solid concepts in 3 weeks time. One of which will define my undergraduate career and haunt me for the rest of my life. During these weeks and shortly after there will also be some other presentations, reports and exams for entirely separate modules.

So naturally I’ve decided now is the time to start a new blog. To share the plight of my people (the product designers), vent my disdain for 80-90% of the people I’ve ever met and as one more vehicle¬†for procrastination.
